2025 dalla mia Finestra Chardonnay
Source: Chardonnay fruit for this wine is sourced from the Denton Vineyard in Tarrawarra where a granitic outcrop, left from ancient volcanic activity, provides a unique soil type for the Yarra Valley.
Clone: P58
Winemaking Notes: a wine that is made with minimal intervention to highlight the minerality and freshness of Chardonnay grown on this distinctive site.
Hand harvested on 22 February 2025, the grapes were de-stemmed and chilled overnight before pressing to oak the following morning. Over the following few days, natural “wild” yeasts initiated fermentation which took place in seasoned oak barriques where the wine spent the following eleven months before bottling in January 2026.
Approximately 20% of barrels experienced, secondary malolactic fermentation.
Wine Characteristics: Bright, fresh and lively this Chardonnay whilst on the lighter side has good flavour intensity and mouthwatering acidity that provides length to a mineral infused palate where pear, citrus and light nectarine characters are discernible.
Reviews: From the Denton vineyard. Barrel fermented and matured in seasoned barriques, with 20% mlf. Bright green gold. Forward and attractive aromas of ripe nectarine, orange blossom and a touch of oak-derived spice. It's generous on the palate, without being heavy, with a fine bead of acidity keeping it fresh and balanced. A well-priced wine to drink now and over the next two to three years. 93 points
